About

By Kathleen Chiras, on January 26th, 2009

I got involved in real estate in the early 1990′s because I didn’t trust agents.  I also didn’t want to sell houses.   I got my real estate license for three reasons.  These three reasons were so that I could…

  • make smarter real estate purchase decisions.
  • be involved in the planned growth of my community while protecting animal habitat.
  • continue in the helping profession.  With a master’s in social work (MSW) and a BA in psychology and sociology, and founder of Denver’s first overnight battered women’s shelter, the evolution to protection of real estate consumers came naturally. I got my real estate license in 1993.

I helped create the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents in 1995 (naeba.org). This association is composed of real estate companies who are 100% dedicated to assisting buyers. Today, my staff & I manage the Colorado, Massachusetts and SmartHomeSearch international associations of buyer agents, as well as all consumer inquiries for NAEBA. I earned the Certified International Property Specialist Designation (CIPS) from the National Associaiton of Realtors in 2008.

I’m pleased with the knowledge that over the past 14 years my company, SkyFor, Inc., has helped over 35,000 buyers get connected to the most outstanding buyer agents nationally and abroad.

On a personal note, I love these things:

  • kids
  • cats
  • canaries
  • horses
  • open spaces
  • green technology
  • playing electric bass
  • all kinds of music
  • oh, and for the most part, I also love the many hundreds of buyer agent friends I have met throughout the world, and thank them wholeheartedly for the good work they have done for the people I have referred their way.
